Following concerns raised by the veterinary profession with regards to once-a-day feeding of calves, DEFRA have sought further clarification from the European Commission. The Commission confirmed that for calves less than 28 days, at least twice daily feeding is the only way to comply with the directive. DEFRA confirms that their position is that once a day feeding of calves is illegal.
